Overview

Energy Systems Group is searching for a Senior Energy Performance Engineer to join our Public Sector Performance Contracting team, located in New York. You have the ability to work virtually but may be required to travel throughout the region, including overnight stays.

As a Senior Energy Performance Engineer you will act as the technical liaison for our sales team during consultations with clients. You will need to discover and develop cost saving measures and provide financial justification. Ultimately these ideas will be translated into real world solutions by our Delivery Teams. You will report directly to the Engineering Manager for the Northeast.

Responsibilities

To be successful in this role you:

    Are able to create technical strategies that result in verifiable savings solutions
  • Know what an optimized solution looks like
  • Understand customer risks elements
  • Keep up with innovative industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Are productive, a self-starter, and manage your own calendar
  • Engage your audience at appropriate technical levels
  • Understand the dynamics working within a high performance team
  • Understand all aspects of Performance Contracting including: Technical, Financial, Political, and Legal
  • Can travel on a variable schedule
Qualifications

Your background includes:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, (Mechanical or Electrical preferred)
  • Previous experience working at an ESCO

A bonus to have:

  • Ten or more years of experience as an Energy Engineer
  • Registered as a PE
  • At least one certification from:
    • AEE (e.g. CEM, CMVP, CBCP, etc.)
    • ASHRAE (e.g. BEAP, BCxP, BEMP, CHD, etc.)
    • LEED Accreditation
  • Knowledge of building automation system
