STARTING WAGE: $11.50 PER HOUR
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Welcomes each guest with a smile and personalized greeting
* Acknowledges each guest, as they are leaving, with genuine appreciation
* Ability to assist the servers with the dining room prep work as needed
* Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene and appearance
* Maintains a businesslike, professional attitude at all items
* Has a working knowledge of the menu, promotions, special events and other property information
* Answers telephone inquiries as per company policies
* Helps server set and clear tables
* Ability to think on your feet and under pressure whilst maintaining a positive outlook and attention to detail.
* Helping guest's with Special Occasion arrangements e.g. Birthdays, Anniversaries, etc.
* Promotes special In House events e.g. VIP Dinners, Cocktail Parties, Tasting sessions, etc.
* Contributes to general cleaning in such areas as the floor in foyer; windows/glass in front; Host(ess) stand area; maintenance checklist; menus and menu covers
* Follows restaurant procedures for seating guests including understanding and following station charts and maintaining guest flow and introduction of server.
* Follows the Thoughtful Service model at all times
* Knowledgeable of the Indiana Gaming regulations as well as Tropicana Evansville's internal controls, policies and procedures
* Must be available for regularly scheduled work. Ability to work a variety of hours, holidays and weekends
* May be required to perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Restaurant experience preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Exceptional communication and presentational skills. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
MATHMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
COMPUTER SKILLS: Ability to learn and utilize computerized reservation/Seating/paging system. Must be able to learn and operate a Point of Sale system (POS).
