DLB Custom Extrusions, LLC manufactures custom plastic extruded sheet solutions for a variety of thermoplastic applications. Our state of the art manufacturing facility is located in Evansville, IN. Today, DLB Custom Extrusions is a member of the DURAMAX SOLUTIONS family consisting of AMD Plastics, DLB Custom Extrusions, Forming Technologies and Duramax Holdings dba Otto Environmental Systems. We are continuously expanding our plastics manufacturing capabilities in thermoforming, extrusion, injection molding and plastic recycling while providing high-tech products and innovative solutions to meet the needs of our customers.
POSITION AVAILABLE: MACHINE OPERATORS FOR PLASTIC EXTRUSION MANUFACTURING
The Extrusion Operator sets up, operates, and tends to the extrusion machines to produce custom thermoplastic sheet. Utilizes retained knowledge of products and material to produce top quality sheet. Applies mechanical skills to make adjustments to machines and ensures product is produced to meet customer requests.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures and temperatures, amounts, and dimensions, and flow of materials or ingredients using pre-algebraic formulas.
  • Examine, measure, and weigh materials or products to verify conformance to standards, using measuring devices such as tape measures, micrometers, and scales using basic math.
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure maximum and accurate output and make adjustments when applicable.
  • Start-up, set-up, production, and clean-up including die splits, adapters, and screws. Ensure sheet produced is in compliance with Quality Standards by performing Quality Checks.
  • Review Production Books, specifications, or instructions to determine materials, ingredients, procedures, components, settings, and adjustments.
  • Operate a fork truck when setting up machines, preparing finished goods for shipping, etc.
  • Identify exact materials being used, maintain accurate production reporting, and demonstrate understanding of material flow.
  • Select and install machine components such as dies, rolls, and cutters, according to specifications, using hand tools and measuring devices.
  • Record and maintain production data such as meter readings, and quantities, types, and dimensions of materials produced accurately.
  • Notify supervisors when operation fails to meet production and quality standards.
  • Inspect equipment and/or materials to identify maintenance issues, the cause of errors, other problems, or defects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB TYPE: Full Time
SCHEDULE: 12 Hour Shifts Day: 5:30AM - 6:00PM OR Night: 5:30PM - 6:00AM
Start out on 5 days M-F shift or 5 nights M-F shift, then at some point - move to a weekly rotation of 2-2-3 schedule
example:
week 1 - 2 days on, 2 days off, 3 days on
week 2 - 2 days off, 2 days on, 3 days off

Minimum Basic Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Must read, write, understand, and follow work instructions, charts, and signs in English
  • Must have basic math skills for counting, inventory and production reporting
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, manufacturing, production environment
  • Dependable to adhere to schedule with prompt punctuality and excellent attendance
  • Team player with a positive "can-do" attitude
  • Strong attention to detail; following instructions both verbal and written

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
