Job Description

Role Description:


This role will work directly with all organizational departments to research new or alternative solutions to support product sustainability and regulatory needs along with new potential manufacturing solutions required to satisfy current and future specifications. Responsible for researching and developing business cases for expansion of existing and new disruptive technologies that bring value to internal operations and product innovation.

Responsibilities:

  • Determines nature of technical problems and possible solutions, such as product redesign, substitution of material or parts
  • Researches, understands, and presents information relating to Regulatory and Environmental Standard compliance requirements as it relates to product and processes
  • Support evaluation for viable Engineering Changes
  • Performs complex design investigation, engineering analyses and feasibility studies for new components or products using industry data, experience, and engineering principles
  • Support and lead teams focused on improving product and process sustainable attributes, including embodied energy, chemical makeup and usage, and life cycle impacts
  • Research new technologies and determine feasibility
  • Responsible for project related functions including preparing, managing, and facilitating development of plans, schedules, tasks and resources from conception to completion

  • Demonstrated capability to perform chemical assessment of materials used in product manufacturing
  • Demonstrated capability with Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and Value Engineering/Value Analysis (VE/VA)
  • Demonstrated capability with Sustainability related to design for product development and engineering changes
  • Capable of creating 3D models and 2D drawings
  • Demonstrated capability with prototyping techniques
  • Demonstrated capability with electro-mechanical systems
