About the role

Covanta is a global leader in providing sustainable waste solutions. The company's modern facilities convert waste from municipalities and businesses into clean, renewable electricity. What You'll Do:

To assist the Area Controller during month-end preparation and provide general support to the facility team. The focus is on accuracy and efficient processing and providing a remarkable service to other internal stakeholders, along with an investigative approach to problem solving.

* Weekly Review of Open Purchase Orders with Procurement Team

* Weekly analysis of match exception with Procurement Team

* Prepare Journal Voucher Reclass when needed

* Ad-hoc Analysis during month-end close to help with variance explanations

* Other ad-hoc requests from the Area Controller

Who You Are:

  • Pursuing Master's in Accounting/Finance or MBA
  • Preferred: 2+ years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Effective and clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Independent thinking and with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize urgent/important work
  • Solid Microsoft Excel skills
