Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a feedback link between Area or Team Leader and team members to share daily results and improvement needs and/or ideas.
  • Coordinate shop floor activities and document necessary information.
  • Drive corrective action to improve quality, productivity & reliability.
  • Provides input for resources & planning purposes.
  • Expedites work flow.
  • Prioritizes work distribution (sequencing released product)
  • Communicates between departments concerning material and quality shortages.
  • Identify work flow interruptions.
  • Proactively communicates business issues and opportunities.
  • Create and sustain a productive and positive working environment by developing people and maximizing flexibility.
  • Motivates team to succeed.
  • Actively works to create the environment to be an employer of choice.
  • Share best practices.
  • Participates in leveraging available resources across the organization to manage cost structure.
  • Able to balance customer and company needs.
  • Ensure compliance to 5S practices.
  • Monitor IPK's and flexing activities required to meet business needs.
  • Conduct daily debriefs (as applicable).
  • Inspect parts to compliance to Quality standards and to material specification (as needed).
  • Provide team status updates to Department Mgrs as needed.
  • Participate in focus factory activities as needed or requested.
  • Support and adhere to our Quality Management System.
  • Follow all safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Identify and measure local performance measurements and necessary action in support of our Business Plan .
  • Support the Vision & Guiding Principles and Corporate Goals of Kimball International.
  • Supports our Environmental Management System (EMS)

Technical Skills Needed to Perform This Role:

  • Passed the color hue test (as applicable to role)
  • Problem Solving / Quality Tools
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Conflict Resolution
  • Data Collection and Analysis
